I bet, there is extraterrestrial life somewhere in our Milky Way galaxy and in the universe at large. We are not alone!
There are several possible explanations:
- Human capabilities are still to primitive to detect and to make contact with extraterrestrial life
- Extraterrestrial life forms are so different from ours that we don't have the means to detect them yet
- Extraterrestrial life forms are so primitive as to be easily detectable
- Extraterrestrial life forms are so advanced that we are not able to detect them and/or their attempts to make contact with us have eluded us
- If extraterrestrial life forms are similar to ours they are not able to contact us and their signature is too faint to be detected
- Any combination of the above
