Ever wondered why Greenland is called Greenland?
Because of the Medieval Global Warming Period from 900 - 1300 AD, this island was lush with plants and not covered by an ice sheet as it has been for centuries past. This is why the vikings choose to settle there for about 400 years after Erik the Red returned with settlers to this island in 985 AD.
