How the world's oldest university Nalanda in India was lost for 800 years

Very impressive! One of the oldest known universities of the world in operation from 427 to 1197 CE. It was international too and existed for about 800 years until its destruction by war.

I have to admit, I do not remember that I have ever heard of this university.
