Headlines Of The Day
When I started the day today (9/22/2013) this headline or similar headlines were shown prominently in my web browser. The headlines did not say a Christian church and they did not say a temple or a mosque or other house of worship.
Hiding Christianity
You had to read at least two or three lines into these articles to get the confirmation that it was indeed a Christian church that was brutally attacked. Why is it that Western media dare not say a Christian church? This would have nothing to do with stirring up emotions.
Hiding The Taliban
From reading into the USA
Today article, one quickly learns that the Taliban claimed responsibility for
this event. Why is this not mentioned in the headline. There was not enough
space?
Further Decline Of Professionalism
I thought it was a professional standard to capture in the headline the essence of what the article is about. These headlines are more about concealment or cowardness.
Expression Of Moral Relativism?
Are these headlines a sign of
moral relativism? USA Today also reported in the same article in the first and
second paragraph (emphasis added):
“A wing of the Pakistani
Taliban claimed responsibility for the bombing in the city of Peshawar, saying
it would continue to target non-Muslims
until the United States stopped drone attacks in the country's remote
tribal region.
The latest drone strike came Sunday, when missiles hit a pair of
compounds in the North Waziristan tribal area, killing six suspected militants,
Pakistani intelligence officials said.”
OK, I get it! We bombed them,
so they understandably bomb us in return.
Unfortunately, there are huge
differences in using suicide killers to deliberately and indiscriminately bomb an innocent minority
(incl. children, elders, women) living in a hostile environment coming out of
church and targeted drone attacks.
