German Central Planners To Shut Down Coal Mining In Germany

Posted: 1/27/2019

Here is the Washington Post article: Climate fight: Germany sets 2038 deadline to end coal use (Notice WP uses the moronic expression “climate fight”)

The Iron Curtain fell in 1990 and central economic planning invaded Germany. A former communist party official (controversial) has been the chancellor of Germany for over the past 13 years. What an irony!

Under Merkel, massive, heavy handed, very costly energy policies in Germany are akin to a great socialist leap forward!

To use government coercion to shut down coal mining in Germany is ridiculous! If coal mining one day is not economically viable anymore, mining will cease by itself.

There are plenty of new energy supply options on the horizon: hydrogen; possibly nuclear fusion; biofuels produced by bacteria and/or plants; photosynthesis; superconductivity and so forth

This government mandated shut down does not make any sense whatsoever! German politicians and too many German citizens are out of their minds! Common sense need to be restored in the land of thinkers and poets!
