Can China pull off a peace treaty between Russia and the Ukraine?

Update of 2/27/2023: Perhaps China feels guilty for the several million people killed by the China SARS-CoV-2 virus!

Update of 2/22/2023: I don't think China has any interest in any unpredictable and uncontrollable escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian war into an inferno of a full blown World War III. The Communist Party of China may not survive WW III.

Update of 2/21/2023: I overlooked what could be the utmost strongest argument for China to achieve such a peace treaty: Taiwan! If China defends the territorial integrity of the Ukraine against the invader, it can make stronger claims on Taiwan. The Taiwanese maybe more willing to negotiate a transition of some sort etc.

It is not impossible! The chances are actually good if China wishes to try!

China has some leverage over Russia (not least economic and financial)! I bet China can also persuasively argue with the Ukraine to make some concessions! China could also e.g. threaten to support or even initiate an international war crimes tribunal against Putin the Terrible.

With a senile and demented 46th President in the White House it must be a once in a lifetime opportunity for China to enter the world stage!

China carpe diem! 把握今日 The disciples of Sun Tzu's The Art of War can not miss this huge opportunity!

NATO has prepared the ground for peace talks, because of its enormous and unwavering support and commitment for the defense of the Ukraine signalling to Putin the Terrible that it will be almost impossible to win! Unless the Ukrainian people give up their brave and smart defense of their country Russia can not win. Putin the Terrible because of his militaristic adventure is weakened at home and abroad! His leadership is probably over soon or China will even hasten his resignation!

If China can accomplish this it would be awesome! This would then firmly establish China as a very relevant world power not to be trifled with going forward!

India will also take note!

If this happens, then this is what I would call diversity, equity, and inclusion to use a current popular ideological phrase! 😊
