Somewhat recommendable! Apparently this supposedly brilliant scientist did not mind to provide a mass murderer and monster like Stalin with these apocalyptic secrets! Was this scientist too politically naive as some other famous scientists (most prominently Albert Einstein)?
We learn that Fuchs suffered traumatic events in his family: "As the Nazis rose to power, the Fuchs family’s resistance to fascism tore it apart. Klaus’s mother, Else, killed herself in 1931; one of his sisters did the same a few years later. "
What was his motive? "He genuinely believed that helping the Soviet Union to get the bomb would make the world safer. Proliferation as prevention is a perspective hard to fathom these days."
If this was part of his motivation it only reveals how stupid he was as far as politics is concerned!
