China's Great Firewall Futility

An Exercise In Futility

If the leaders of the communist party of China thinks it can stop free speech on the Internet by raising the Great Firewall, they are gravely mistaken for underestimating the Chinese people’s yearning for more information and facts.

History does not have much mercy and patience on autocrats!

In an irony of history, Karl Marx and Engels wrote in their Communist Manifesto:
“The bourgeoisie, by the rapid improvement of all instruments of production, by the immensely facilitated means of communication, draws all, even the most barbarian, nations into civilisation. The cheap prices of commodities are the heavy artillery with which it batters down all Chinese walls, with which it forces the barbarians’ intensely obstinate hatred of foreigners to capitulate.” (emphasis added)

The Soviet empire had to lock up copy machines to prevent insurrection and dissidence.
