Here is how the U.S. government in form of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) tries to fool We the people with propaganda and demagoguery! This federal government website should be taken down!
This demagoguery is paid for with your tax dollars!
What is the underlying ideology here: Humans are bad and they are about to destroy nature and this planet.
This information is presented as neutral and objective information and reflecting the current state of science on the subject. NOAA also suggests to use this material for education etc.
This article also includes several dramatic looking, but manipulated charts like e.g. this one:
Nowhere in the article are other views mentioned or that we still do not understand well many things surrounding climate. In particular, the natural CO2 cycle is still poorly understood!
Nothing is mentioned about how solar activity and cycles affect climate on earth. The sun is probably the biggest influence! What little do we still know about the sun!
They don't mention that CO2 even at 420 parts per million is still a minute trace gas or that elevated levels of CO2 in the atmosphere has also many benefits.
"The modern record of atmospheric carbon dioxide levels began with observations recorded at Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii". This is the most cited observatory for the increase of CO2 in the past two decades or so. Why is this one observatory in whole wide world you wonder!
Then they use this hockey stick like chart:
This chart is based on only one study "Graph by NOAA Climate.gov based on data from Lüthi, et al., 2008"
No discussion on how reliable this data is!
