On the Taiping Rebellion or Civil War

If you want to understand the heavy suppression of Uyghurs and Falun Gong under the Communist Party of China, the you may want to study e.g. the the 14 year long Taiping Rebellion or Taiping Civil War. However, this is no justification for what the CPC is doing!

This was also a total war. "it ranks as one of the bloodiest wars in human history, the bloodiest civil war, and the largest conflict of the 19th century. Estimates of the war dead range from 10–30 million. 30 million people fled the conquered regions to foreign settlements or other parts of China. ... and it involved every province of China proper except Gansu." Until recently, I was not aware of the substantial influence of Christianity on this Rebellion that was led by the self proclaimed brother of Jesus Christ.
