Big Government Mandates 1.6 Gallons Per Toilet Flush

Yet Another Example Of How Big Government
Intrudes In Every Aspect Of Our Lives

Just learnt that the federal Energy Policy Act of 1992 required manufacturers to reduce the quantity of water per toilet flush to 1.6 gallons (gpf) by 1994.

This clearly is another example of statist, socialist one size fits all authoritarian, draconian measure by our do gooders in the U.S. Congress and the White House.

This mandate is unconstitutional and should be repealed ASAP!

How many Americans actually know about this mandate?

Rationale

Waste of water? Conservation of scarce clean water resources?

This is humbug! If there are no leaks in our water pipelines, the amount of water will remain roughly the same.

1.6 gpf? Is this an arbitrary number picked out of thin air by big government? Most likely so!

From what little I read, the gpf had already dramatically declined (perhaps by as much as 2-4 gallons) in the two decades prior to the passage of the above referenced Act.

In a federally organized country like the U.S. it would be foremost the prerogative of individual states to regulate or not regulate gpf, but federal government constantly usurps more power.

Why was water pricing, metering of housing units and public education not tried harder? Big government likes it rough shod and expedient.

Now It Is Incandescent Light Bulbs

If The People do not oppose this nonsense by Big Government what will be next. It is quite incredible that such socialist measures are happening in the U.S.

Or what about trans fats? Smoking bans? Large soda drinks? And so on and so on ...
