Jack Johnson America's First Black American Professional Sports Superstar

Very recommendable! So is the Ken Burns 2004 biography of this outstanding athlete titled "Unforgivable Blackness", which I have watched some time ago.

The story about the first wife of Jack Johnson appears troubling.

Jack Johnson (1878-1946) was the trailblazer for Joe Louis and Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali. The latter may have copied quite a bit from Jack Johnson!
After Jack Johnson came e.g. the Rumble in the Jungle (1974) and Thrilla in Manila (1975)!
Then there were Sugar Ray Leonard and the Spinks brothers on the U.S. team of the Olympic Games of 1976 ...
