Researchers develop urine test for early detection of lung cancer

Amazing stuff! Lung cancer in our pee? What is not in our pee? Cancer is history (soon)!

Unfortunately, there seems to be no recent research article associated with these news! That's odd!

"... To create the test, scientists looked at proteins excreted by senescent cells: “zombie” cells which are alive but unable to grow and divide. It’s these cells that cause tissue damage by reprogramming their immediate environment to help promote the emergence of cancer cells. ...

an injectable sensor that interacts with zombie cell proteins and releases easily detectable compound into urine, signalling their presence. ..."

"... The test starts with an injection that introduces that probe, or sensor, into the body. After the probe is cut in two by the target protein, the smaller part travels to the kidneys and is released through the bladder in urine. ..."
