I bet this is a lousy and foul deal with the megalomaniac and war criminal Putin the Terrible! This awful deal sets a terrible example again for Putin the Terrible to take hostages whenever he needs!
The senile, demented and corrupt 46th President gave in to gross Russian extortion!
There was absolutely no urgency for this foul deal other than the November elections in the U.S.!
Then there is also the almost simultaneous, dubious plea deal with 9/11 terrorists detained in Guantanamo! Insane!
Why did the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz go along with this to release of a Russian killer/assassin! Were the other released Russians also criminals? Apparently! The German held hostage by Belarus was already granted reprieve of death penalty.
Caveat: I am not familiar with the details of this deal.
