Apparently, the NYSE did not ask to be exempted from this new holiday! No spine!

Yesterday, I speculated here that the conservative movement did not do much to oppose this new federal holiday declared by the demented and senile 46th President.

Today, I found proof for it!

Yesterday, I suggested the next president cancels this new holiday!

"On Monday, America marks our second Juneteenth national holiday. Some will focus on the severe pain and death that slavery inflicted on blacks between 1619 and 1865. ..."

The next U.S. President ought to rescind the new Juneteenth federal holiday

This newly created holiday by the demented and senile 46th President carries too much negative ideological baggage (e.g. CRT, BLM etc.). Some refer to this new holiday as George Floyd Day in honor of a lifetime criminal and drug addict! Let's not give this failed president the privilege to be remembered for creating a federal holiday! This was a blatant and partisan effort by the Dimocratic Party to endear themselves once more to black and lefty voters!

Why did two term President Obama not declare this holiday? Reportedly, he did not even care much about it.

With the Martin Luther King Jr. Day, signed into law by President Reagan, the U.S. has already a federal holiday that covers the issue of slavery and honors the non violent Civil Rights Movement. Combpare and contrast the Civil Rights Movement with e.g. CRT and BLM like day and night!

As I have said here several times before, the American Civil War was not about slavery, but about secession. It was an unnecessary and unconstitutional war! Other Western countries had already begun to phase out slavery, so it was only a matter of time for slavery to be abolished in the U.S. as well. I bet, the Founding Fathers and Mothers would not have approved of this war!

I am not sure, but it appears that the Republican Party and conservative movement was very lukewarm to protest or oppose this new federal holiday! No spine?

Let's see whether the next president has the guts to go down in history as a president who canceled a federal holiday! There is a good chance that has never before happened in history!

Did leading conservative public policy organisations fail to oppose new Juneteenth federal holiday?

6/25/2021: Verified by contacting them that the Mackinac Center for Public Policy did not bother either.

6/24/2021: I learnt about this horrible YouTube video titled "Juneteenth Represents What Is Special About America" produced by the Heritage Foundation confirming that the THF committed a huge blunder here!!!

6/23/2021: Nevada Policy Research Institute had no opinion either according to the results obtained using their website search function. Likewise the Mackinac Center for Public Policy.

6/22/2021: It appears the John Locke Foundation of North Carolina had no opinion on the new holiday. When you use the search function with the term 'juneteenth' on their website only one item is found dating from 2014. Either the search function is crappy or the foundation had no opinion on this topic.

6/21/2021: Today, I learnt that apparently the Texas Public Policy Foundation appears to have endorsed the new federal holiday! Today's email newsletter titled "The Truth About Juneteenth" states: "... I’ll put my cards on the table: I am in favor of Juneteenth and its celebration, on the grounds that making the rest of America celebrate a Texas holiday is an intrinsic good, and also on the grounds that — properly understood — the historical background illuminates the promise and purpose of America. The freedom of enslaved Americans didn’t happen despite America: it happened because of America. ...". The author (a foundation C suite officer) of this newsletter seems to be quite confused and naive about this new holiday!

As a former employee of the Heritage Foundation under the leadership of Ed Feulner, I am particularly disappointed that the THF under his successor, Kay C. James, appears to have even supported this new holiday! I bet, this would not have happened under Ed Feulner!

I may speculate that other prominent conservative public policy organisations failed as well to oppose this new federal holiday. Or how do you explain that the entire U.S. Senate voted in favor of the law by unanimous consent and 415 Representatives voted for it!

What is wrong with the new Juneteenth Federal Holiday?

I don't claim to be an expert on the subject or to be very familiar with the reasons for this new federal holiday!

"The House approved the bill on a vote of 415-14. The Senate unanimously passed the bill on Tuesday." (Source) What no Republican U.S. Senator voted against it!!!! This is truly shocking so many cowards in the U.S. Congress especially among the Republican Party! This will go down as a dark day in U.S. history!

It appears that leading conservative public policy organisations have failed to oppose this new holiday, which may explain above voting results in the U.S. Congress!

However, I strongly recommend to repeal this new federal holiday ASAP!

What is wrong?

1. The Emancipation Proclamation was a presidential proclamation and executive order issued by Republican President Lincoln on September 22, 1862, during the Civil War definitely and without any doubt the much more important and relevant date!
2. Maybe more importantly, there is already a Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday, for which on November 2, 1983, Republican President Reagan signed a bill into law. In my humble view, the MLK federal holiday is already serving the purpose of the new federal holiday!
3. The law is officially titled "Juneteenth National Independence Day Act" (Source). What the heck has this to do with the 4th of July holiday or the Declaration of Independence! This is outrageous!
4. The American Civil War was not about ending slavery but preventing secession! No civil war was necessary to end slavery, because it was already being phased out in e.g. Great Britain and Canada! It was only a matter of time that slavery would have ended in the U.S. as well
5. To me it seems the demented 46th President and the Dimocratic Party are just looking for an excuse to have a new holiday of their own that pleases the current racist/antiracist tribalism. Of course, the MLK federal holiday is no longer good enough, since MLK was too soft on white supremacy with his non violent civil disobedience! (Caution: Irony)
6. Are reparation payments for slavery next? Nice plot to buy black votes!
7. I am sure there is more wrong with this new federal holiday, but I need to do more research eventually
