What Each State Pays in Federal Taxes per individual

Food for thought!

"Delaware leads the nation in federal tax revenue per person at $24,575 per resident in 2023, followed by Massachusetts at $21,747 and Minnesota at $20,728, according to a new study.

Washington D.C. is a major outlier, contributing $54,612 per resident—more than double any state—due to its concentration of high-income earners and government-related economic activity.

West Virginia, Mississippi and New Mexico paid the least per capita, each contributing under $6,000 per person. ..."

Florida Governor DeSantis blasts McCarthy debt deal as inadequate with too much more spending and debt

I am not familiar with the published details of this compromise, but it appears that the Speaker of the House did not do a great job here!

Let's see how hard this presidential contender will push! Hopefully, he will not back down!

Hopefully, the GOP and Democratic members of the U.S. Congress will do their part if this deal is not good and vote no! The excessive and lavish federal spending has to come to an end!

“I think that we’ve gotten ourselves on a trajectory here, really, since March of 2020 with some of the Covid spending and totally reset the budget, and they’re sticking with that, and I think that’s just going to be totally inadequate to get us in a better spot,” ..."

U.S. House Democrats Propose 4,350 Earmarks A Year Costing $13 Billion

The Dimocratic Party back in power revives the horrible practice of earmarks thereby undoing important budget reforms!

"Congressional earmarks are back. The Democratic majority in the U.S. House of Representatives will allow up to $13 billion in earmarks on House appropriations bills, 10 per member, for a total of up to 4,350 earmarks for fiscal year 2022.

House Republicans released a statement arguing that earmarks are a pathway to congressional corruption. One member of the caucus, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), argued that earmarks are “little more than legislative bribery.”

The late Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) frequently called earmarks “the gateway drug” to corruption and overspending, and spearheaded the 2011 ban. ..."
