Very misleading by PBS! He was not a Founding Father! I stopped watching this long story after 6 minutes of 10 minutes!
In honor of Thomas Paine and other Founders & Immigrants. In memory of my daddy Horst Bingel and my mom Irma Bingel

National Weather Service ends severe weather alerts in Spanish and other languages
Good news! E.g. local news stations can provide this information in any language!
The United States is not officially a bilingual nor a multilingual country unlike e.g. Switzerland!
Legal or not so legal immigrants to the US are expected to learn English!

Arizona PBS Airs Horror Program On Valentine's Day
Posted: 2/14/2017 (Valentine’s Day)
As if Arizona PBS wanted to repeat the infamous Saint Valentine’s Day massacre. It was shocking. What were they thinking.
My wife and I had dinner, when Arizona PBS showed a documentary on the infamous Ruby Ridge siege (Ruby Ridge: American Experience, Tuesday, February 14, 08:00 pm).
Not to be outdone, Arizona PBS followed immediately with a documentary (Independent Lens, Tower #1809, Tuesday, February 14, 09:00 pm) on one of the most infamous mass shooting events in U.S. history, i.e. University of Texas at Austin mass shooting of 1966 (17 killed and 31 injured during 96 minutes of mayhem).

New Website Of PBS Really Sucks
Posted: 2/20/2016 Updated: 3/6/2016
Update Of 3/6/2016
Today, I chose to watch the third episode of American Experience Prohibition. What is the PBS website confronting me with: “This video is only available in ArizonaPBS Passport. ArizonaPBS Passport is an additional member benefit that provides extended access to quality PBS streaming video.” It appears, there is no alternative option available.
NO THANKS! Incredible, and this is paid for with taxpayers money as well!
Blog Post
Since about the beginning of this year (i.e. 2016), I noticed that pbs.org has a heavily redesigned website. One of the only things, I am interested in is full length videos with historical, scientific or nature as content.
This new design is awful in various respects:
- When you select genre History (http://www.pbs.org/shows/?genre=history&layout=grid), you are presented with hundreds of icons, each representing single or multiple videos. Each icon pops up a text in your face when the cursor hovers about them and you cannot filter by full episode anymore. Instead, many of these icons would offer only short video clips.
- When you search for particular videos, e.g. Unforgivable Blackness by Ken Burns, then the website shows you part 1 & 2 of full length videos to select, but when you then click on the play button following nonsensical message comes up “This video is unavailable in your area. Visit the PBS FAQ page for more information.” The PBS FAQ page does not provide any helpful information on this issue.
I have actually contacted PBS by e-mail to bring the second issue to their attention, but I am not sure the staff who answered my e-mail understood what this was about despite a brief exchange and follow up.

PBS Glorification Of President Johnson
Posted: 8/8/2015
Trigger
Just watched JFK & LBJ: A Time for Greatness presented by PBS Secrets of the Dead series. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to go into any details of this video.
I suppose, this video was part of the ongoing celebration of the socialist legislation called Medicare, which passed under LBJ 50 years ago or the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Quick Notes On U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson
I consider him to be next to Theodore Roosevelt, his cousin Franklin D. Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson to be the worst socialist presidents of the 20th century. All these presidents have expanded big government, and big business at the expense of individual liberty, free markets, and federalism. These presidents have enlarged presidential power and authority in unprecedented ways except for Abraham Lincoln.
I would argue that the Voting Rights Act of 1965 is another prime example of federal government overreach and federal government taking control of state and local affairs. This struggle for equal voting rights for black americans should have been fought at the state level. This certainly would have taken longer, but it would have been much healthier for individual liberty and federalism in this country!
The brute force and one size fits all solutions coming from the federal government or the U.S. Congress are detrimental to and in violation of the Declaration of Independence.

Why Do Videos On PBS Website Expire?
It’s A Shame
Taxpayer financed PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) has a lot of valuable videos to offer on their website, but they expire soon after release.
In this day and age, I don’t think there is any reasonable explanation why PBS would expire any videos once they are offered on their website. Memory and storage is so cheap these days.
Do I sense a profit motive since PBS is trying to sell its videos.
