The U.S. Postal Service plans to raise prices on stamps and other services. Really!

The USPS wants to accelerate its demise! When will the USPS finally be fully privatized?

"The U.S. Postal Service plans to raise Forever stamp prices from 78 to 82 cents on July 12 as part of a broader 4.8% USPS rate hike across mailing services."

Social Security Paper Checks and mailing of them End September 30

Good news! Good riddance!

However, the Danes go further. They are about to end all traditional mailing by December 31st!

"After 90 years, social security payments will no longer be sent by mail starting Sept. 30, with paper checks being phased out to reduce fraud, cut costs, and speed up delivery.

Paper checks cost around 50 cents each, more than three times the cost of an electronic transfer, and are 16 times more likely to be lost or stolen, according to the Social Security Administration.

Fewer than 1% of the nearly 70 million recipients—about 500,000 people—still rely on physical checks and will need to switch to direct deposit or a prepaid Direct Express card."

How Denmark ending letter deliveries (on December 31, 2025) is a sign of the digital times

Good news! Bravo! When will other Western countries follow!
Letter mail delivery is so 20th century!
The Danish postal service will still deliver parcels (e.g. online shopping).

From the US Postal Service

I was just shocked this morning when I opened my daily USPS email titled "USPS Informed/Coming to you soon"

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” George Santayana in 1905

Does this USPS picture not look eerily similar to this famous/infamous photo below dating 1963? USPS is mired in the DEI ideology!

Getting [junk] mail to your door is just one part of what the postmaster general does. Really!

When a nutty professor of law defends the US Postal Service!

The obsolete and anachronistic USPS might very well be on the chopping block of President Trump! Divestiture from its vast ownership of real estate properties might be a great opportunity for development and construction etc.

How much of today's daily mail is kind of junk mail in your mailbox like commercial or political party advertisement? A lot!

Let me guess that basically every argument this professor lists in favor of retaining the USPS could also be more efficiently, better and more cheaply done by private businesses.

"The US Postal Service processes millions of passports, employs thousands of people and ensures the health of all Americans with last-mile delivery in rural areas." Soure

"... I’m a law professor who has studied the United States Postal Service and the role of the postmaster general. ...

The postmaster general overseas a vast operation.

Over 44% of the world’s mail is processed and delivered by the U.S. Postal Service, making it the largest delivery service in the world. ...

In 2023, USPS owned or leased 22,873 properties around the country. To place this in perspective, the General Services Administration – known as “America’s landlord” [???] – owns or leases only 8,800 properties. ..."

Caveat: I did not read the whole article!

Getting mail to your door is just one part of what the postmaster general does
