Wasserstoff-Lkw ohne Brennstoffzelle: Was BMW jetzt in Leipzig testet

US Border Patrol Arrests 95 Illegal Alien Truck Drivers In Yuma - AZ during four days in August with 82 of them having Commercial Drivers Licenses from CA & NY

Good, but shocking news! In one southern border city alone within four days?

"Federal authorities arrested 95 commercial truck drivers identified as illegal aliens during a multi-agency enforcement operation in Arizona’s Yuma Sector, with more than three-quarters carrying commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) issued by California.

The U.S. Border Patrol conducted the operation with local law enforcement partners from Aug. 10 through Aug. 14, resulting in 143 arrests involving individuals from 18 countries, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Of the 95 truck drivers arrested, 76 possessed California CDLs, while six held licenses issued by New York. CBP said the remaining licenses came from other states but did not identify them individually. ..."

The Trump administration shut down 270 truck-driving schools in a nationwide fraud crackdown

Good news, if warranted! Tough!

"... including 110 that officials say licensed drivers, many in the country illegally, who couldn’t meet English requirements."

"Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced the move alongside Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, saying tens of thousands of illegal drivers' licenses were issued during former [46th President's term]. ...

The administration is shutting down 110 driving schools that were the "greatest offenders" in granting drivers' licenses to illegal immigrants, as well as 160 additional schools that Duffy says lacked proper space for driving tests or had unlicensed instructors. ..."

Exposed How several US States unlawfully Gave Foreign Truck Drivers a License to Kill instead of a commercial driver's license

Bad news! Hopefully, some individuals involved will be held accountable!

More horror/nightmare stories out of California!

"In 2025 alone, investigators found 17 fatal crashes involving illegal immigrants who had been unlawfully granted CDLs and allowed to drive massive 18-wheelers. ..."

"Investigation reveals 30+ dead, 128,000 risky CDLs in one state, and tests in foreign languages
WASHINGTON—The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) today released a new Investigative Report, License to Kill: Uncovering the Anti-Borders Takeover of the National CDL Program. The report exposes how anti-borders politicians and bureaucrats in multiple states have systematically undermined federal commercial driver’s license (CDL) standards. They have converted this critical public-safety credential into a permission slip for foreign nationals (who frequently lack English proficiency, valid immigration status, and basic driving competence) to get behind the wheel—often with deadly consequences. ...

investigation documents the scale of the problem:
  • In 2025 alone, at least 17 fatal crashes involving foreign national CDL-holders claimed more than 30 American lives. ...
  • California issued more than 128,000 non-domiciled CDLs between 2022 and 2025 (more than doubling annual output), and permitted applicants to take knowledge tests in Arabic, Chinese, Punjabi, Russian, and Spanish. First-attempt pass rates were as low as 22% for Arabic speakers and 26% for Punjabi speakers, compared with 63% for English.
  • Multiple states issued multi-year credentials that extended far beyond the expiration of applicants’ lawful presence documents, granted non-domiciled CDLs to ineligible Mexican and Canadian nationals, created “temporary” licenses never reported to the national CDLIS database, and even produced credentials listing “No Given Name.”
  • The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) sanctioned California and New York for their noncompliance with federal CDL standards, and withheld hundreds of millions of dollars in federal highway funds from those states. In total, FMCSA scrutinized 25 jurisdictions for noncompliance, and required substantial corrective action.

Federal autonomous truck legislation introduced

Good news! No drivers wanted! Keep on trucking!

"Establishing a national framework for autonomous vehicle trucking is the focus of proposed legislation recently introduced by Rep. Vince Fong, R-Calif.

The America Drives Act would preempt state laws pertaining to autonomous commercial vehicles while supporting the deployment and regulation of autonomous vehicles in interstate commerce.

If this proposal becomes law, states would not be allowed to prohibit the operation of commercial motor vehicles with Level 4 or Level 5 automated driving systems based on the absence of a human occupant. ...

Fong said 35 states allow some form of autonomous truck testing or deployment, while others have imposed “restrictive or conflicting regulations.”

The Autonomous Vehicle Industry Association threw its support behind a Congressional effort to establish autonomous vehicle regulations. ..."

An Example Of German Efficiency And Organization

Trigger

The World’s Largest Truck Assembly Plant

It’s a marvel of German engineering and organization!

A few (mind boggling) facts:
  1. Built in 1962 by Mercedes Benz
  2. Located in Wörth, Rheinland Pfalz (Rhineland Palatinate), Germany
  3. Assembles trucks of 6.5 metric tons weight
  4. Total employees about 12,000
  5. Employs French (15%) and German workers
  6. Assembles about 470 trucks per day. Each truck is customized and different from any truck built the same day or even built during the same year. Absolutely stunning!
  7. Assembles trucks for about seven different brands
  8. Has its own power plant supplying about 40% of its electrical power and about 25% of heating power
  9. Workers are organized in independent groups managing their own affairs to a significant extent
  10. Just in time and sequence delivery of parts from over 1,000 different foreign and domestic locations
  11. Heavy use of industrial robots (I suspect not enough)
  12. Adjacent proving ground of 550,000 square feet to mimic street conditions all over the world
