Russia Expands North Korean Troop deployment by an additional 10,000

Hopefully, this will be the end of the North Korean dictatorship!

When will the lethargic, apathetic Russian Slav(e)s/Serfs finally get rid of their last tsar, the megalomaniac, warmonger and war criminal Putin the Terrible!

How many more young Russian men will be killed or maimed? For what?

"In brief: President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday, Sept. 28 that Russia has already begun additional mobilization and is expanding its use of North Korean troops, with over 8,000 already in Russia and up to 50,000 more planned. “They plan to increase and attract foreigners,” Zelensky said. ...

Citing new intelligence data from Ukraine’s Military Intelligence (HUR), Zelensky said more than 8,000 North Korean military personnel are currently in Russia, with preparations underway to deploy an additional 10,000. ...

one in 10 Russian prisoners of war (POWs) held in Ukraine is a foreign citizen. At least 55 nationalities have been recorded. ...

In July, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry estimated that Russia lost around 43,000 troops ..."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky divulged the location of two captured North Korean soldiers

Indeed, quite a mistake by President Zelensky!

So North Korean soldiers are indeed fighting for Putin the Terrible in this war.

"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky divulged the location of captured North Korean soldiers.

Zelensky, during an address last week to the United Nations General Assembly, mentioned the pair of North Korean prisoners of war who had been held in Kyiv after being captured on the Russian front lines last year.
But he also detailed their relocation to South Korea, drawing an immediate rebuke by Seoul officials, who claimed it violated a nondisclosure pact, endangered the young North Koreans’ lives and demanded an apology from Kyiv."

Extensive and large nuclear weapons testing by North Korea resulted in long-term seismological activity

Concerning! Why the heck did North Korea need so many nuclear weapons tests? Since 2018, North Korea issued a moratorium on such testing.

"North Korea conducted six underground nuclear tests between 2006 and 2017 at the Punggye-ri test site.
The largest, final explosion was an equivalent magnitude 6.3 seismic event and deformed the mountaintop by about 3 meters.
Most studies have focused on characterizing the explosion events, but Fan et al. took a longer view. Their 17-year earthquake catalog identified about 1400 local earthquakes between 2008 and 2025, with a notable acceleration of events and magnitudes after the 2017 test. Delayed reactivation of shallow faults indicates that cumulative damage from the explosions has redistributed crustal stress in the region."

"... They show that these explosions have the potential to reactivate seismically quiet faults and produce earthquakes that may be difficult to distinguish from naturally occurring tectonic activity. ..."

From the abstract:
"Underground nuclear explosions typically produce short-lived seismic sequences that decay rapidly after testing ceases.
By contrast, seismicity near the Punggye-ri nuclear test site at Mt. Mantap in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has persisted and intensified for years after the final large-yield explosion in 2017, evolving from diffuse activity to spatially organized distribution along fault-controlled structures. Analysis of 17 years of continuous waveform data reveals a progressive increase in seismicity and delayed reactivation of shallow faults. Earthquakes cluster beneath asymmetric topography, indicating progressive stress redistribution within a critically stressed crustal volume. These observations challenge conventional expectations, showing that under specific geological conditions, underground nuclear testing can drive multiyear fault reactivation and extend posttest seismicity well beyond the immediate aftermath of an explosion."

For North Korea, AI is a cybercrime force/crime multiplier increasing the already large scale of its cyber crimes

Recommendable overview article! Is not a way shut down these massive criminal activities by North Korea? This has been going on for decades using ever changing technologies.

"AI is changing how states operationalise their cyber capabilities. In North Korea’s case, it’s transforming the country into a bigger cyber power by helping Pyongyang expand what it already does: generate revenue, obtain trusted access and collect intelligence at extraordinary scale.

North Korea has built one of the world’s most unusual state cyber programs, treating hacking not only as an instrument of statecraft but as an industry.
Its operations combine cryptocurrency theft, fraudulent overseas IT employment and other forms of cybercrime with longstanding espionage against foreign defence, aerospace, government and policy targets. AI fits naturally into this model because its greatest value is in lowering the cost of running existing fraudulent models.

The scale of North Korea’s malicious cyber activity is already remarkable.
In the first half of 2026, blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs assessed that North Korean hackers stole around US$643 million (A$900 million) in cryptocurrency, accounting for roughly 66 percent of tracked global crypto theft. Pyongyang has effectively industrialised cyber-enabled revenue generation, from large-scale cryptocurrency theft to bank heist operations. It’s turning capabilities once associated with intelligence services and transnational criminal organisations into a reliable source of hard currency. ...

This is most prominent in North Korea’s fraudulent IT-worker operations, in which nationals win legitimate remote IT jobs using fabricated or stolen identities, drawing salaries that benefit the regime while gaining trusted access to the systems they are hired to build.
One estimate has found that as many as 22 operatives submitted at least 166,893 applications to US companies across 2024 and 2025, sat more than 21,000 interviews and secured at least 76 job offers. ..."

First North Korea-Russia road bridge nearly complete, symbolizing new era of military cooperation

What a milestone! Two rogue states become more connected!

Germany was reunited in 1990! How much longer will it take to reunite the Korean peninsula? Probably we have to wait until the demise of the Communist Party of China and Putin the Terrible!

"The first-ever road bridge linking North Korea and Russia across the Tumen River appears close to completion, according to satellite imagery reviewed by Defense News, though construction on the Russian side lags behind Pyongyang’s finished part. It is a visible manifestation of the two countries’ tightening relationships, driven by Pyongyang’s military support for Russia in its war against Ukraine. ...

The crossing sits at Tumangang, a longstanding rail hub on the North Korean-Russian border that handled Soviet-era bulk trade before falling largely dormant after 1991. ...

The border between North Korea and Russia is just 17 kilometers, or 11 miles, long, but increasingly geopolitically significant. ...

China Has Quietly Accepted a Nuclear North Korea

A concerning development if confirmed!

Did China indeed relent to the evolving closer cooperation between two rogue states, i.e. Russia under Putin the Terrible and North Korea?

"Xi Jinping has made a consequential strategic choice. Faced with Kim Jong Un’s growing partnership with Vladimir Putin, Xi is rebuilding Chinese political and economic support for North Korea and abandoning the pretense that Beijing is seriously pursuing its denuclearization.

The result will not be a more restrained Kim. It will be a more dangerous one.

Kim is now positioned to draw military assistance and treaty protection from Russia while continuing to receive the trade, money and political backing that only China can provide. As his nuclear arsenal and conventional forces improve, he will have stronger incentives to take risks against South Korea and the United States. Most alarmingly, should China initiate a conflict over Taiwan, Kim could see an opportunity to exploit America’s distraction. ...

For years, Chinese officials claimed that Beijing wanted both stability and denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula. Stability was always the higher priority, but China at least supported denuclearization negotiations and some efforts to constrain North Korea’s weapons programs.

That policy is effectively over.

During Xi’s June 2026 visit to Pyongyang, the first by a Chinese leader in seven years, Xi  omitted any meaningful reference to denuclearization. Premier of North Korea Pak Thae-song met with Xi in early July, where Xi again did not mention denuclearization. The silence was striking.
These instances followed other notable omissions, including at the 2025 North Korea-China summit.
The last time a Chinese official explicitly called for North Korean denuclearization was in May 2024 at the South Korea-China-Japan trilateral summit.  Beijing has tacitly accepted North Korea as a permanent nuclear power, hoping that in exchange it will regain influence over Kim.

Xi’s shift reflects the emergence of Kim’s “Russia option.”

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine [in 2022], North Korea has become an important supplier of artillery ammunition, ballistic missiles and military personnel to Moscow. In return, Russia has offered Kim economic support, diplomatic protection, military cooperation and assistance with missiles, satellites, air defenses and other advanced capabilities. Their 2024 comprehensive strategic partnership treaty includes a mutual-assistance commitment. ..."

North Korea’s role in providing Russia with artillery for the war in Ukraine

Bad news!

"Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) confirmed North Korea’s role in providing Russia with artillery for the war in Ukraine, including an estimated 25-40 percent of current Russian artillery ammunition.
North Korea has supplied more than 600 artillery systems of different types and calibers to Russia, including M-1989 Koksan 170mm self-propelled guns, M-1991 240mm multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS), 107mm Type 63 rocket launchers, self-propelled anti-tank missile systems, D-74 122mm towed guns, and Type 76 140mm mortars, anti-tank guided missiles, and artillery shells.
North Korea has also provided more than 100 KN-23 and KN-24 ballistic missiles to Russia, which has used at least 80 of these missiles.

HUR frames these weapons deliveries as “systemic” in their scale and regularity, with North Korea occupying a “key position” among Russia’s foreign weapons and equipment suppliers. North Korean weapons provisions to Russia reportedly totaled over 9 million 12mm and 152mm artillery rounds by the end of 2024, 12 million 152mm artillery shells by July 2025, and an estimated 15 million 152mm artillery shells by March 2026. ..."

China-Russia-North Korea Combined military Exercises to provoke South Korea

What rogue states do best!

When will the Korean peninsula be reunited again like Germany in 1990!

"The PRC, North Korea, and Russia conducted aerial and naval incursions into South Korea’s ADIZ and near the NLL on June 27, provoking a South Korean response. The PRC and Russia are signaling their desire for greater cooperation with North Korea and willingness to encroach upon South Korean territory."

Kim Jong-un laughs manically as he drives 'world's most powerful' rocket launcher

The dictator looks fat and unhealthy! This is so pathetic! When will this nightmare finally be over! When will the Korean peninsula be reunited? Germany was reunited in 1990.

According to Google search: "Hunger in North Korea is severe and chronic, with food insecurity arguably at its worst since the 1990s famine, say reports from The Committee for Human Rights in North Korea and 38 North. Approximately 40-42% of the population is undernourished, with severe shortages exacerbated by border closures ..."

Hackers stole over $2.7B in crypto in 2025, data shows with $1.4B stolen from Bybit in Dubai, North Korea suspected

Bad news! Maybe law enforcement is not yet up to the task!

Why is North Korea not more isolated from the rest of the world to prevent hacking, cyber crimes etc.? When will the Korean peninsula finally be reunited!

"... Once again, in 2025, there were dozens of crypto heists hitting several cryptocurrency exchanges and other web3 and decentralized finance (DeFi) projects.
The biggest hack by far was the breach at Dubai-based crypto exchange Bybit, where hackers stole around $1.4 billion in crypto. Blockchain analysis firms, as well as the FBI, accused North Korean government hackers — the most prolific group targeting crypto in the last few years — of this massive heist. ..."
