US natural gas is helping to directly power the data center boom in the US and more

Good news! US dominates the worldwide development of natural gas power capacity by far!

Notice the usual complaints by new media about the additional greenhouse gases! The greenhouse gas narrative is so phony!

"US gas-fired generating capacity currently under construction reached 52 gigawatts by mid-2026, up 76 percent in just six months, according to Global Energy Monitor, a nonprofit that tracks global energy infrastructure.
At least 16.9 gigawatts of that capacity is being built to directly power data centers, which are increasingly building their own power plants to avoid lengthy waits for connections to the electrical grid."

Doomslayer: Progress Roundup - by Malcolm Cochran

U.S. gas power proposals tied to data centers nearly double in six months "Driven by rapid data center expansion, U.S. gas-fired power capacity in development jumped 50% to 378 GW, with Texas leading the push."

Rumänien wird grösster Gasproduzent der EU

Gute Nachrichten!

Saudi Arabia could buy Israeli gas from Egypt coming from a pipeline starting in Egypt

Good news! Blessed are the peacemakers!

"Egypt led by President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi plans to significantly increase gas production to meet growing domestic needs and mainly to increase exports. In addition to its own huge offshore gas fields, Egypt also imports significant amounts of gas from Israel.

One of the projects on the agenda is a tripartite move of supplying Israeli and Egyptian gas to Saudi Arabia. ..."

Saudi Arabia could buy Israeli gas from Egypt - Globes Egypt will build a gas pipeline that will cross the Gulf of Eilat to Saudi Arabia, and the gas that will be sold to the Saudis will also be from Israeli sources.

Riesiger Gasfund vor Zypern weckt Hoffnungen für Alternative zu Russland

Gute Nachrichten!

Zeitweise stand die Erkundung still. ...

European reliance on Russian gas

Switzerland is curiously missing from this chart. Switzerland too is highly dependent on Russian gas!

Look, the UK is at the bottom thanks to e.g. nuclear power and domestic fossil energy production!

Israeli, Egyptian energy ministers discuss natural gas trade plans

Good news! Despite the 1979 peace treaty between Egypt and Israel, progress in their relations seems slow. E.g. a closer and close economic cooperation and foreign trade between both countries could be so beneficial in so many ways!

"Energy Minister Karin Elharrar (Yesh Atid) spoke to her Egyptian counterpart, Tariq El Molla, on Monday to discuss future plans for Israeli gas to be liquefied at Egyptian natural-gas liquefaction plants for re-exportation, they said in a joint statement.
During their phone conversation, they discussed ongoing cooperation in the field of natural gas and future plans to strengthen it within the framework of the East Mediterranean Gas Form (EMGF). ...
One future initiative between Israel and Egypt would see Israel’s natural gas be liquefied in Egyptian factories and then re-exported for use.
Israel has been exporting natural gas to Egypt since January 2020 in what was seen as a historic step in the working relationship between the two countries. ..."

Flaring in Texas reaches levels not seen since 1950s, oil industry regulator says

Is it still necessary in the 20th year of the 21st century to burn all that surplus gas instead of selling it?

Israel's Leviathan field begins pumping gas, marks 'historic turning point' in economy

Good news! Way to go!

"For the first time in its history, Israel to become a significant natural gas exporter ... deliveries to Egypt were expected to begin on January 1 ... Leviathan was discovered 130 kilometres (81 miles) west of the Mediterranean port city Haifa in 2010, and holds an estimated 535 billion cubic metres (18.9 trillion cubic feet) of natural gas ... Leviathan holds enough natural gas to meet Israel’s energy needs for the next 40 years"

i24NEWS - Israel's Leviathan field begins pumping gas, marks 'historic turning point' in economy: A spokesman for Israeli partner Delek said then that deliveries to Egypt were expected to begin on January 1

U.S. Senators Meddle With Natural Gas

Trigger

U.S. Senators Jim Inhofe (R) and Carl Levin (D) naturally get it wrong. Two busy buddies in search of a solution where there is no problem.

Senators Don’t Understand Free Enterprise and Markets

Some excerpts (emphasis added):
“Our legislation would expand regulatory incentives to produce alternative-fuel vehicles …”
“to allow alternative-fuel vehicles to use high-occupancy-vehicle lanes on highways without passenger restrictions”
[As someone who can probably not afford such a vehicle or would not buy such a vehicle I find this proposal offensive and unjust!]
“Under the Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards, automakers can receive bonus credits toward their CAFE obligations for producing alternative-fuel vehicles.”

CAFE Should Be Abolished Instantly

This is an unconstitutional program created by Soviet like central planners in Washington DC. For the rest of the world it is unfathomable how such a socialist monster could be implemented in the U.S.

Senators Inhofe and Levin are so gracious to create new hand outs within this program. Marvelous!

Reality Check For Senators

Senators Inhofe and Levin claim their is a chicken and egg problem here, i.e. there are insufficient gas stations available yet for natural gas. The private sector can easily take care of this if politicians keep these environmentalists in check and remove regulatory obstacles.

I have recently read that large private trucking companies are already planning to convert some of their fleet from gasoline/diesel fuel to natural gas. And this is probably only the beginning. Here is a recent article from the Wall Street Journal titled “UPS to Invest $70 Million in Propane for U.S. Fleet

If natural gas is a viable fuel for private businesses they will come and develop it.

Senators will you get out of the way and let free markets work. They work best without you!
