60 bipartisan co-sponsors in the US Senate for the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act. Really!

Are these US Senators serious? What kind of nostalgia/nonsense is that? Or how many US Senators are senile?

Can not car owners buy there own radio if they need one?

"This bill requires the Department of Transportation (DOT) to issue a rule requiring AM radio capabilities to be standard in all new passenger vehicles. (AM radio is often used to deliver emergency alerts and news and entertainment programming; some newer vehicles do not include AM equipment.)

Specifically, this bill applies to passenger vehicles (1) manufactured in the United States for sale in the United States, imported into the United States, or shipped in interstate commerce; and (2) manufactured after the rule's effective date. ..."

Three bipartisan lawmakers ask US government to ban three Indian hack-for-hire firms. This is huge!

Concerning! Serious allegations! What is PM Modi doing about it?

The scale of activities of these three hacking for hire companies is mind boggling! They don't operate in the shadows!

"A bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers has asked the U.S. government to ban several hack-for-hire firms — companies that carry out cyberattacks on behalf of paying clients. The lawmakers accuse the firms of targeting Americans and abusing foreign courts to silence U.S. reporting on their activities. ..."

"... Several India-based cyber-mercenary groups have spent more than fifteen years conducting targeted espionage against U.S. citizens, businesses and the lawyers representing them. Compounding this security threat, these cyber mercenaries and their associates have engaged in an aggressive campaign of global lawfare to censor investigative reporting by prominent American media organizations. This coordinated effort effectively allows foreign entities to use foreign courts to keep the American public in the dark about cyber threats to their own country and undermines the fundamental constitutional rights of U.S. citizens.

These hackers have systematically subverted the U.S. legal and financial sectors, targeting private equity firms, pharmaceutical companies, and more than 1,000 attorneys across major U.S. law firms to manipulate ongoing litigation. The threat is further heightened by evidence that these groups have operated at the behest of the Qatari government, targeting opponents of Qatar’s World Cup bid and even the family of a former Republican Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. While one of these operatives has been indicted by the Department of Justice, the foreign hackers continue to operate with impunity.

Simultaneously, these actors have mounted an aggressive censorship campaign to suppress public awareness of their illicit activities, directly threatening American free speech and press freedom.
Executives connected to one hack-for-hire group secured an Indian court order enforcing a global takedown of an investigative report by Reuters, including a copy of the report hosted by the Internet Archive. To force further censorship, these foreign hackers have launched ongoing lawsuits against major American media institutions and technology companies, including Google, Meta, Microsoft, and The New Yorker. ...

To hold these illicit actors accountable, we request that the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security add the following companies—identified by Reuters and Citizen Lab as the perpetrators of the hacking operations outlined above— to the Entity List to cut off their access to American software, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity tools:
Sunkissed Organic Farms Pvt. Ltd. (formerly known as “Appin Technology Pvt. Ltd.”) and subsidiaries, including: ...
BellTroX Pvt. Ltd.
CyberRoot Pvt. Ltd.

The Congressional Term Limits and state legislators term limits Movement in the US: The History and the Path Forward

Recommendable! Why only term limits for US presidents? Why accept so many lifelong, mediocre career politicians elected again and again?

With rising population age comes gerontocracy accompanied by senility, dementia and frailty like the 46th President, US Senators Schumer and McConnell!

'Lifelong perch:' Aging, dying Congress revives debate over long-held power, term limits

Good news! Very long overdue this discussion!

Why are only US Presidents term limited and not the members of the US Congress?

E.g. had term limits for US Senators already been in place like the term limits on the US President, then most likely the awful demented, senile and pathological liar 46th President would not have happened!

US Senator Mitch McConnell and the 46th President acted reckless and irresponsible not to resign for health reasons!

"Organizations such as the Convention of States advocate using Article V of the Constitution – which allows two-thirds of state legislatures to call a special meeting to suggest change – to impose such limits.

The push for term limits has been reignited recently following the ailments and deaths of a U.S. senator and one House member, several of whom have been accused of concealing their true health status from constituents, particularly when their absence results in an inability to participate in important congressional votes. ..."

Two US Supreme Court Justices to Give Rare Testimony to Congress. Really!

What is this all about? Was this necessary? Could this be a violation of the separation of powers?

Caveat: I am not familiar with the details of this event.

"While two Supreme Court justices are scheduled to field questions from a House panel Tuesday about the court’s budget, it’s plausible, if not likely, that members will use the opportunity to press the justices about some highly contentious cases.

Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Elena Kagan will appear before members of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government. Some of the subcommittee members have been outspoken about recent high court rulings. ..."

Marjorie Taylor Greene and now Elise Stefanik, two conservative ladies will quit the U.S. House of Representatives and possible politics

Marjorie Taylor Greene is leaving Congress, resigning effective January 5, 2026. There were news that MTG just got engaged.

Elise Stefanik to Quit New York Governor Race and she will not run for re-election to the House.

I am not very familiar with either lady, but it is noteworthy that these two ladies appear to leave politics behind at this time almost simultaneously.

Congress Just Eliminated the Three Biggest Subsidies for EVs

Good news! Other Western countries should follow! Long overdue to end this folly!

Gone are the superfluous and unfair government subsidies for middle and high income earners!

"... But what has received far less attention is a significant achievement of this Congress: eliminating the three major policy levers that have artificially supported the electric vehicle market for over a decade. Not phasing them out by 2030 but eliminating them immediately in 2025. These three policy levers accounted for up to $60,000 in subsidies per EV in 2023. Now, for the first time since the 1990s, electric and gasoline vehicles will compete on a mostly level playing field. ..."

Governor of New York Kathy Hochul before the US Congress or lipstick on a pig

Did she put on some extra lipstick and other cosmetics for her appearance yesterday on the US Congress? I think she did! Like lipstick on a pig!

Some of her responses to questions about specific criminal, illegal immigrants that were arrested in her state were pathetic!

This photo does not even quite capture the bright red lipstick she put on!

US Senator (R-Pa) and US Representative (R-Pa) introduce legislation for Congressional Term Limits of a maximum of 12 years

Good news! Hopefully, this time congressional term limits will finally be implemented!

The noticeable and severe cognitive decline in office by lifelong career politicians like  e.g. Nancy Pelosi, Joseph Biden, and Mitch McCullum would probably have been prevented with term limits!

"Freshman Sen. Dave McCormick, R-Pa., is already taking aim at the Washington establishment by teaming up with Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, a fellow Pennsylvania Republican, to try to enact term limits for members of Congress.

McCormick introduced a joint resolution on the Senate floor on Thursday that would mandate that U.S. senators and representatives can serve a maximum of 12 years in each legislative body. The bill reflects legislation previously introduced by Fitzpatrick in the House. That means senators can only serve two six-year terms in the Senate and representatives can only serve six two-year terms in the House. ..."
