"War Secretary Pete Hegseth will announce today a 20% cut to the positions reserved for generals and admirals, doubling the reduction he ordered last year.
The cuts apply to slots, not the officers filling them now. Some jobs will be downgraded so that colonels and Navy captains can hold them, and the services have until this Jan. 1 to complete the work.
Last year’s order trimmed 10% of all generals and admirals and 20% of four-stars, which Hegseth summed up as “Less Generals, more GIs.” ..."

How often did poisonous gas attacks happen in military conflicts since 1918 AC/CE? According to Google Search perhaps a dozen times (not including terrorist attacks).
Why does the US military not invest in research to make daily shaving a thing of the past! I would be very happy! 😊

Pentagon launches low testosterone screening program for male troops
What hormone will the DoD test female soldiers for? Is testerone testing in the military necessary? Is it obscure?
Is this potentially a violation of gender equality?
"The Pentagon will begin annually screening service members for testosterone deficiency, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Wednesday, citing the need to ensure troops maintain the “biological foundation” to fight.
Under the new program, the secretary said service members aged 30 and older will be tested yearly for testosterone deficiency as part of routine health assessments. Troops under 30, meanwhile, will have the option to be tested, he said. ...
The decision to receive testosterone replacement therapy — if recommended by a medical professional — will remain up to the individual service member. ..."

"The Pentagon is moving to demote Sen. Mark Kelly, a retired Navy captain, over his participation in a video calling on troops to resist illegal orders, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said.
Reducing the Arizona Democrat’s retired rank would significantly cut his retirement pay. Hegseth also said he’d issued a formal “Letter of Censure.” The actions taken against Kelly are an extraordinary censure of a sitting U.S. senator but stop short of recalling him to active duty and prosecuting him, as Trump officials have threatened to do. "U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was in Vietnam on Sunday, reaffirming a partnership built on healing the scars of the Vietnam War in a trip that will test whether Washington can reassure a vital but wary partner.
Hegseth said addressing the legacies of the war, which ended 50 years ago in April, remains the foundation and a top priority of the countries’ defense relationship.
At the end of his talks with Vietnamese Defense Minister Phan Van Giang, Hegseth handed over a leather box, a belt and a small knife — wartime artifacts once taken by U.S. soldiers during the Vietnam War.
Such returns have become part of broader reconciliation efforts between the two countries, with similar relics — including letters, identification tags and photographs — handed back to the U.S. in recent years. ...

A force for good not for being a LGBTQ club! Not long ago there used to be an acceptable, working compromise policy of "Don't ask, don't tell!" starting in 1994, which was repealed in 2011 under President Obama.
Do taxpayers have to pay for the transition of soldiers or military staff who want to become transgender? Under what conditions?
It appears, the US military has become too much a laboratory for dubious social experiments!
