What do popular terms like disparity, equity, equality, and justice have in common

They are perfect examples of terms in the toolkit of alarmists, ideologues and demagogues! One of their most favorite terms "disparate impact".

Whenever you see these terms or their derived terms used in research and journalistic articles be immediately alert! It is almost like a red flag! If there is a combination of these terms used in an article be alarmed!

Often the use of these terms identify the author immediately as a simple minded terrible simplificateur!

Then there is the pretense of knowledge that these authors implicitly invoke. E.g. so called intellectuals want to appear as smart and convincing!

Like Karl Marx, many times the world/subject is divided into two supposedly distinctive dogmatic categories aka as dichotomy (e.g. capitalists and laborers). Many times this division is artificial or too coarse or is very incomplete and ignores dynamics/interactions etc.

If we want a better humanity going forward, then this cheap demagoguery needs to stop!

Trump, Xi, and the Specter of 1914 | Foreign Affairs. Really!

This article headline makes very little sense if no sense at all!

China is very different than any of the European countries involved in World War I!

Maybe the author, a professor of history, should first read Sun Tzu's The Art of War!

Caveat: I did not read the article given the idiotic headline!

Intellectuals are eager wordsmith

They often produce a lot of hot air and baloney! Too often style over content! Superficiality! What a waste of their time and our time!

Often, they are addicted to come up with the fanciest word combinations possible to impress and dazzle their readers/listeners. Vanity of vanities! Or vanity upon vanity!

So be it, but beware!

Niall Ferguson: The Treason of the Intellectuals

Recommendable! A pertinent and timely reminder that even some professor can be monsters and that elite universities can be sources of evil!

Niall Ferguson: The Treason of the Intellectuals | The Free Press Anyone who has a naive belief in the power of higher education to instill morality has not studied the history of German universities in the Third Reich.

Opinion: Biden says U.S. will defend Taiwan. His aides must accept it. Really!

What a foolish and dangerous opinion by one of those talking heads! Mr. Thiessen is with the American Enterprise Institute and a former speech writer of President George W. Bush.

We have no assurance that the demented and senile 46th President fully understands the implications of what he said recently during his first live interview after over 200 days!

We are living in very dangerous times with the potential of a World War III amid a possible global recession and highest inflation in decades. This is no time for such mindless opinions!

Opinion | Biden says U.S. will defend Taiwan. His aides must accept it. - The Washington Post The debate is settled. It is the policy of the United States that the U.S. military would defend Taiwan if it were attacked by Communist China. The policy of “strategic ambiguity” is dead — no matter what a bunch of unelected White House aides say.
