Recommendable! Short and sweet! However in the annoying narrow video format!
In honor of Thomas Paine and other Founders & Immigrants. In memory of my daddy Horst Bingel and my mom Irma Bingel

Why Taiwan Hasn't Shut Down Its Economy
Very recommendable! Voices of reason found on a small island constantly threatened by the Communist Party of China (CPC)!
By the way, it is a huge scandal that the WHO at the behest of CPC does not show Taiwan COVID-19 infections separately!
"However, in Taiwan and other parts of Asia, including Singapore and Hong Kong, no massive mandatory quarantine or containment has been applied so far."
The article was not updated. Meanwhile, Singapore & Hong Kong have resorted to stricter quarantine measures.
" ... The Taiwanese government is controlling the spread of the infection with flexible policies, which leave much room for individuals to take initiative and make their own decisions. ... Taking the schools as an example, the beginning of the course was delayed for two weeks at first. Currently schools' policy is to take students, teachers, and workers' temperatures. If fevers are detected, classes in that school are suspended, but massive class suspensions do not occur. ... In many Taiwanese universities, online teaching is being promoted in order to let those who are not able to attend class in person to take courses. Although it is true that online education as a way to avoid infections has already been adopted in other countries, the peculiarity of Taiwan lies in the fact that it has not been imposed by government order. ... enterprises the time they need to voluntarily prepare and adopt teleworking progressively. Other countries instead suddenly shut many businesses down through mandatory government orders ..."
Why Taiwan Hasn't Shut Down Its Economy - Foundation for Economic Education: The key is that the Taiwanese government and the Taiwanese people understand that the individual's own responsibility and actions are essential to suppressing the coronavirus pandemic, not a mandatory massive shutdown. This is what the world needs to learn.

A Litany of Useless Laws Have Been Exposed By the Coronavirus
Some positive effects of the latest panic & hysteria! One can only hope that these useless laws & government regulations will not be reinstated again after the coronavirus pandemic!
A Litany of Useless Laws Have Been Exposed By the Coronavirus - Foundation for Economic Education: From coast to coast, governments are waving regulations, many of which appear to serve as no more than impediments to free exchange. If these measures exist simply to generate additional government revenue, the public should ask themselves, once the crisis has abated: should they exist at all?

James Madison-Checks and Balances to Limit Government Power
Very recommendable! Rarely in history have so many great minds met in one place!
In particular, James Madison and Thomas Jefferson had apparently a very close and affectionate friendship:
"As Jefferson wrote in his most poignant letter, February 17, 1826 [just a few month before his death on July 4]: “The friendship which has subsisted between us, now half a century, and the harmony of our political principles and pursuits, have been sources of constant happiness to me. . . . It has also been a great solace to me, to believe that you are engaged in vindicating to posterity the course we have pursued for preserving to them, in all their purity, the blessings of self-government. . . . To myself you have been a pillar of support through life. Take care of me when dead, and be assured that I shall leave with you my last affections.”"
James Madison-Checks and Balances to Limit Government Power - Foundation for Economic Education: James Madison didn't originate the idea of checks and balances for limiting government power, but he helped push it farther than anyone else before or since. Previous political thinkers, citing British experience, had talked about checks and balances with a monarch in the mix, but Madison helped apply the principle to a republic. Contrary to such respected thinkers as Baron de Montesquieu, Madison insisted checks and balances could help protect liberty in a large republic.
