The Salt Lake Tribune: The governor of Utah is ignoring Pride month. Really!

When you give an inch to the witch hunters of the church of LGBTQ it is never enough!

"Gov. Spencer Cox has come a long way from acknowledging his straight, white privilege and apologizing for being unkind to his LGBTQ+ peers in school. For the second year, the Utah governor — who has traveled the country encouraging people to “disagree better” — is ignoring Pride month. ..."

Officials stand silent by as Brownshirt tactics make a campus comeback in the U.S.

Food for thought! How serious is the situation at U.S. universities? Resist the arrogant intolerance by authoritarians!

Caveat: I did not read the whole article.

"The situation on campus is becoming more dire with each passing day. Conduct considered acceptable now would have been met with swift reprisals just several years ago. Such is the power of habituation — or, as Daniel Patrick Moynihan aptly put it, “defining deviancy down.” Students are being chased, surrounded, barricaded, verbally abused, spit on, and even physically assaulted.

Of course, the victims are not just any students. The targets are those who don’t conform to the radical left-wing agenda now monopolizing most of American higher education. That means, practically speaking, students who are politically conservative, Christian, Jewish, pro-Western civilization, and/or pro-Israel. ...
When it comes to pursuing power, however, tactics that they would consider “fascistic” are the very ones they adopt. Any and all tactics — “By any means necessary!” — are considered acceptable, even admirable and noble. Ultimately, higher education is churning out scores of nihilistic ingrates. ..."

Muslim Girl in France Calls Her Abaya a ‘Kimono’ and Sues State to Wear It

That is a clever idea! Banning certain pieces of clothing can be tricky!

Are Sikhs allowed to wear their typical turbans (or even their daggers) in France? Or what about orthodox Jews?

If I were this girl, I would probably call my abaya my bikini! 😊

"France recently passed a ban on wearing abayas — the full-length, baggy robe that, like the hijab, is considered to be an outward and visible sign of religion, and thus violates the state’s principle of laicité. A Muslim girl has now called her abaya a “kimono” — a sleight of word designed to make it avoid the ban — and is suing the French state for the right to wear it. More on this attempt to get around the abaya ban can be found here: “Muslim girl banned from school for kimono sues France in UN court, Anadolu Agency, September 22, 2023:"

More Christian bakers coerced to bake cakes for LGBTQ

How many times have we heard or read this story now that a Christian baker somewhere in the U.S. is sued by some LGBTQ member over refusing to bake e.g. a wedding cake (see e.g. here).

I think, I said it here before that it is very odd by members of the LGBTQ to have an obviously Christian baker, who hesitates or refuses to bake a cake for them, to force it upon these bakers by suing them. Why don't they simply go to the many other bakers who are more than willing and glad to to business with them?

This fanatic pursuit is abhorrent! Anybody who does not conform with the tenets of LGBTQ will be persecuted! This obvious hatred of and animosity towards Christian belief is revealing!

Were LGBTQ minority not long ago asking for tolerance, acceptance, and integration from the majority of us?

We Have the Data to Prove It: Universities Are Hostile to Conservatives

I did not have the time to read the whole article nor study! However, I have little doubt that you can empirically prove the claim!

I know for sure I would not be able to study at many of the so called liberal and/or elite U.S. universities! It would make me cringe or worse almost every day!

"Academic freedom is in trouble in America, Britain and Canada, according to a new study I conducted on the subject. While the term "cancel culture" is often thrown around like a political football, my new report for the Center for the Study of Partisanship and Ideology (CSPI) found quantitative evidence that the ideals of the university—to establish a tolerant ethos open to questioning received wisdom—is being perverted by political aims. ..."

"This study is the first of its kind to investigate authoritarianism and political discrimination in academia, relying on survey responses from both the perpetrators and targets of discrimination.
Across three Anglophone countries, a significant portion of academics discriminate against conservatives in hiring, promotion, grants and publications. Over 4 in 10 US and Canadian academics would not hire a Trump supporter, and 1 in 3 British academics would not hire a Brexit supporter.
Gender-critical feminist scholars appear to experience even more discrimination than conservatives. Only 28% of American and Canadian academics would feel comfortable having lunch with someone who opposes the idea of transwomen accessing women’s shelters.
Most professors do not back cancel culture in its most authoritarian forms. Only 1 in 10 academics supports firing controversial professors. Nonetheless, while most do not back cancellation, many are not opposed to it, remaining non-committal.
Right-leaning academics experience a high level of institutional authoritarianism and peer pressure. In the US, over a third of conservative academics and PhD students have been threatened with disciplinary action for their views while 70% of conservative academics report a hostile departmental climate for their beliefs.
In the social sciences and humanities, over 9 in 10 Trump-supporting academics and 8 in 10 Brexit-supporting academics say they would not feel comfortable expressing their views to a colleague. More than half of North American and British conservative academics admit self-censoring in research and teaching. ...
A hostile climate plays a part in deterring conservative graduate students from pursuing careers in academia. ..."

Yann LeCun: One Of Mark Zuckerberg's Extremely Left Leaning Employees?

Posted: 7/14/2018  Updated: 4/14/2019, 7/15/2018

Update Of 4/14/2019

As of today, Yann LeCun decided to cut me off from commenting on his public posts on his Facebook page. Very fitting for an intolerant leftist full of hubris. He is also one of those hard and naive leftists who can not handle the truth or criticism!

It is his loss not mine! :-)

A Vice President & Chief Scientist At Facebook

Yann LeCun is the VP & Chief AI Scientist at Facebook according to his LinkedIn profile. Yann LeCun is actually one of the superstars of AI & machine learning.

I have recently liked his Facebook page, therefore about two posts by Yann LeCun appeared on my Facebook page in the past few days. Both of them were openly and kind of directly against President Trump. Not only that, he essentially and unreflectively (I hope) regurgitated typical leftist/progressive and absurd talking points like Trump has a mental issue (e.g. wordplay on paranoid and pronoid) or Peter Strzok’s “fiery” response during the Congressional Hearing about him (LeCun later also commented favorably about Strzok’s possibly fake outrage that Trump insulted a Veteran).

Yann LeCun Responded On His Facebook Posting

I had challenged Yann LeCun on both of his recent Facebook postings listed above. Today (7/15/2018) he responded to one of his two Facebook postings:
“You don't need to be "extreme left leaning" to see that Trump is a lying, incompetent racist who has no sense of basic human decency and no respect for democratic institutions. Anyone, conservative or progressive, who is in favor of democracy and human decency can see that. Are you? Can you?” (emphasis added)

My response to his response in return: “Mon dieu, you entertain a narrow, highly distorted and biased view of the current president. I suspect, it has to do with your upbringing in France (myself I am from Germany). I further suspect, you have a very poor and incomplete understanding of U.S. history and the Declaration of Independence as well as the U.S. Constitution/State constitutions. Recherchez vous si'l vous plait. Merci!”

Zuckerberg About An Extremely Left Leaning Place

About April 10, 2018, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, gave a testimony in the U.S. Congress where among other things, he had the courage to admit “I understand where that concern is coming from because Facebook and the tech industry are located in Silicon Valley, which is an extremely left-leaning place” (source; emphasis added). I guess, he knew what he was talking about.

I personally do not like these awful show trials of business leaders in the U.S. Congress at all. It is often not much more than grandstanding and chest beating of our elected politicians to drag a business leader before them and lash out at them. In the case of Mark Zuckerberg this was certainly the case!

The Bubble Of Silicon Valley

They think they are so smart, open minded, and sophisticated, working on cutting/bleeding edge technology to the benefit of all mankind. They are so proud of the wisdom of crowd sourcing etc.

Turns out, that they rather live in a serious bubble and they are mightily trapped/stuck in really narrow minded groupthink!

No Harm Intended

I don’t mean any harm to or to judge Yann LeCun’s political views. Everyone is entitled to their opinions! His professional work in AI is excellent/outstanding and greatly admired by many, including myself.
