How humans co-evolve with AI

Very recommendable! Humans co-evolve with technology and culture! The race between AI and humans is a journey ...

"... It is perhaps fitting that the dance community is beginning to embrace robots, with AI helping to create new movements and choreography, and with robots sharing the stage with human dancers. ...
The relationship between society and technology is yin and yang, with every massive enhancement accompanied by the potential for danger. AI, for example, offers the promise to end boring, repetitive jobs, enabling us to engage in higher level and more fulfilling tasks. ... The positive versus negative polarity of how the technology is applied, the yin and yang, is an expression of the dualistic human mind. ...
I will unlock human potential and let us focus on the most interesting, most creative, most generative things. ...
Humans would be physically different if we had not invented fire or spears. We are Homo technicus as much as Homo sapiens.” ...
On the contrary, we are about to start branching [on the tree of life]. In the same way that culture coevolved with larger brains, we will coevolve with our creations. ..."

This is how we'll merge with AI | VentureBeat The relationship between humans and AI is something of a dance. We and AI come close together operating collaboratively, then are pushed away by the impossibility, only to stumble but return attracted by the potential.

Why Humans Need A Computer Brain Interface Fast

Posted: 6/18/2017

Will I Be A Witness In My Remaining Lifetime

Blessed are those who have perfect photographic memory lasting over long periods of time. But, I am afraid, few people do.

A computer brain interface would go way beyond photographic memory to tapping into and fast processing of all the available knowledge ever collected by humans in the past.

I have little doubt that one day our brains (plus our body) are integrated with computers in some form or shape. Computers may evolve into biological computers as well.

Huge Benefits

Let me attempt to collect some benefits here (by far not exhaustive):
  1. Instantaneous and independent self education about any subject conceivable and in any depth you may choose in the shortest amount of time possible. Denis Diderot would be truly amazed!
  2. Lies will have even shorter legs than today. Propaganda and demagoguery of the kind we have experienced in the past to fool people will become a lot more difficult
  3. Self-diagnosis and self-treatment of medical issues will be much easier. Mental and physical health will be constantly checked up by the computer

Caveat Emptor

As any other technology, it can be abused! There will be powers that will attempt to do exactly that! Citizens beware!

Robot Rescues Suicidal Man

Posted: 4/19/2015

Trigger

Here is the relevant excerpt from the above article (emphasis added):
““Negotiaters attempted to talk to him via a remote PA system, but that is not the optimal way of talking to him, so the decision was made to deliver a phone to him. The safest way to do that and not cause confrontation was to use a robot.
“[Because] delivering food is a way of encouraging someone to do something we want them to do, we sent pizza with phone. We [instructed the subject] that if he wanted the pizza released, to pick up the phone. The robot was holding the pizza, it released the pizza once the subject picked up phone to talk to negotiators.
“The robot was also equipped with cameras, audio, and a speaker, so we were able to get a closer look at [the subject], see how he was armed, see what he did with knife, and observe facial expressions, to see if he appeared agitated.”

It is quite possible that the next human in distress may not trust a robot anymore. Or that a robot would be used to incapacitate the suicidal person.

Humans Rescued By A Robot

What a great future for robotics! Would this not increase the acceptance of robots in our daily lives?
