Trump demanding ‘rare earths’ from Ukraine in return for military support

The Art of the Deal? Is Trump indicating to Russia that it would have to give up the occupied areas in the eastern Ukraine for a peace deal?

If this is correct, then how would the Ukraine be able export rare earth minerals to the US?
